I have worked on farms, cycled the lanes, walked the fields and picked Damsons in the late September in this place of outstanding beauty. Every summer I endeavor to capture the essence of the rolling fields and burgeoning hedgerows, a fleeting moment a ash of blue sky. I am a committed en plien air artist. When painting from real life my work feels fresher, riskier, allowing me to draw conclusions , make assumptions and quickly and spontaneously. Composition arrives subconsciously, becoming clear as the painting progress. As larks sing and emerald fields layout before me in the Eden Valley.
