Printmaker, mixed media, painter  

​

I love the chance happenings which are so often part of the etching process, and when printing my plates the line can blur between traditional inking techniques and painting. The landscape is my natural habitat and when conveying it I try to describe visually a sense of place, and the feelings it evokes. My work tends towards abstraction because that is how I see the world. I try to portray the essence of something rather than specific details. Colour is a great joy to me and I am fascinated by how it's use can influence the finished work. Printmaking is the perfect way to celebrate this.
