About the artist

Painter and potter

 

Pottery fits well into my family life with its linear process that has a definite beginning middle and end, processes that can fit into small chunks of time, easier to put aside than a painting. I find it satisfying to create functional tableware. In the making I explore texture and pattern, and relinquish the responsibility during the final 2 stages; the alchemical process of glazing, and the magic of the kiln gods!
